SWEET TABOO

How a Sacred Collection Was Born

"Sweet Taboo" is a vibrant collection inspired by the Middle East's ancient tile and ceramic art, which captured their culture. These tiles were found in holy places where it was customary for faithful men and women to cover their bodies, leaving only their faces and hands exposed. However, "Sweet Taboo" demonstrates faithfulness isn't solely about covering the body. The designer also expresses love, power, and freedom through her use of colours and shapes.

Sweet Taboo Philosophy...

In numerous religious communities, the act of covering the body symbolizes dedication and loyalty. Wearing revealing attire, which leaves certain parts of the body exposed, has traditionally been considered taboo. However, with the pervasive influence of the internet and social media, the younger generation is increasingly exposed to the notion that being perceived as sexually appealing holds societal value. Consequently, what was once considered taboo is now more readily embraced by them and tastes sweet.
